Goals For The Poor Of Bantayan Island:
If you have been on Bantayan Island you know that in the midst of all the beauty that you have seen, there are a great number of poor. If you walk amongst their homes and speak to the residents you will see that they are kind, gentle, and peaceful people. They are in great need of someone to help them in their poverty. We have been on the island since 2010, rebuilding the homes that were destroyed by past typhoon’s, Super Typhoon Haiyan, in 2013. Your gift supplies the most basic of necessities for poor of the island:
♥ Fresh water.
♥ Rice and other basic food staples for each household.
♥ Medical supplies, paid fees for doctors and hospitals.
♥ Rebuild and repair damaged native homes.
We are Teach The Word Ministries, an affiliate of Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa California. For the past 42 years, serving as a pastor, missionary, and author of several books, I came to Bantayan on vacation in December of 2010. After seeing the conditions the the poor live under, I returned to the United States and sold my house. Returning in 2011, we began doing the best we could to help the poor.
After the destruction of Super Typhoon Haiyan, we set out to rebuild 61 homes in the area of Pantalan, Talisay, Santa Fe. We were able to accomplish this work because of the generosity of people in the United States who also care about the poor of the island.
Our only source of help for the poor of Bantayan Island is the generosity of people just like you who come to the island and see the poverty for themselves.
