I always fly Philippine Airlines because the service is very good as
well as the fare, considering you are on a non-stop flight. Some of the
other airlines offer lower fares but they require you to go to Korea,
Japan or China to change flights with hours of layover time.
It is advisable to book your local airline for departure from your home
state for travel to Los Angels, San Francisco, or Las Vegas as your
point of departure for the Philippines. Philippine
Airlines offers fantastic non-stop service to the Philippines from
these locations. (Stop to fuel only in Guam) Non Stop on the return
flight of 12 hours.
The aircraft you will be flying on is a Boeing 747-400 which is one of
the most comfortable and smoothest Wide-Body Jets flying across the
Pacific ocean today.
Your departure from Los Angeles is an Evening flight leaving at
approximately 9:00 pm, arriving in Manila at about 6:30 am. You will be
able to sleep from 6-8 hours as they turn off the lights and it is very
quiet shortly after the first meal is served, within two hours of your
departure from LAX.
The Flight takes 15 hours including the 45 minute fuel stop that lands
in Guam at about 3:45 am and departs at about 4:30 am, with final
arrival in Manila at about 6:30 am.
You will receive a wonderful hot Asian meal within the first 2 hours of
departure, a second hot breakfast in about 8 hours and a third light
meal about 1 1/2 hours before you land in Manila.
Because this flight crosses the International Date Line and takes over
15 hours, you will arrive in Manila two days after your departure from
the United States. Make sure you make your connecting flight from
Manila on the correct date of your arrival in Manila.
The Following are an
example of the current air fares from Los Angeles, San Francisco, and
Las Vegas:
Most people have not thought of traveling to the Philippines by way of
Hawaii. On a recent trip to Bantayan Island I met a swimming coach from
Oahu who gave me a tip on flying from the United Staes to the
Philippines. He told me that it is about the same price to fly via
Honolulu as it is to fly directly from the U.S.
I checked Hawaiin Airlines Web Site and discovered he was absolutely
right.
The Round Trip
Airfare from Phoenix Arizona to Honolulu Hawaii, then on to Manila,
Philippines is just about $975.00 USD Per Person.
You could schedule a short layover in Honolulu and get two tropical
vacations in paradise for the price of one.
